Our family recently had the chance to experience a luxury family tour to Pokhara with Leaf Travels and Tours, and honestly, it was a truly memorable experience from start to finish.

The drive from Kathmandu
We travelled from Kathmandu to Pokhara by private vehicle, and the journey itself was wonderful. The scenery along the way was breathtaking, with lush green hills, winding rivers, charming villages, terraced fields, and impressive mountain landscapes. It was a very scenic drive, and we enjoyed stopping along the way to take photographs and enjoy the surroundings.
Our driver was friendly, professional, and careful throughout the journey. Since we were travelling with children and older family members, we really appreciated his patience and safe driving. He always made sure that everyone was comfortable before continuing the journey.
Where we stayed
The luxury hotel in Pokhara was another highlight for us. The room was spacious, clean, peaceful, and very comfortable, with stunning views of the surrounding hills and mountains. The hotel staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. We also enjoyed the food, especially having the chance to try different Nepali dishes along with familiar international options.
Our guide arranged through Leaf Travels and Tours made our sightseeing experience even more interesting. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. He explained the history, culture, traditions, and local lifestyle of Pokhara in a simple and interesting way. We never felt rushed, and he was very patient with our children and older family members.
Phewa Lake and Lakeside
We started our sightseeing at Phewa Lake, where we enjoyed a peaceful boat ride surrounded by serene water and picturesque mountain views. Visiting Tal Barahi Temple gave us a chance to learn more about the local culture and traditions. We also spent time exploring the lively Lakeside area, which was full of restaurants, shops, cafés, and people from different parts of the world.
We then visited Devi’s Fall and Gupteshwor Cave, which gave us a completely different experience. The sound of the waterfall and the natural surroundings were impressive, while the cave was fascinating to explore. We also visited the International Mountain Museum, where we learned more about the Himalayas, mountaineering, and the people who have made the mountains their home.
Sunrise at Sarangkot
The visit to the World Peace Pagoda was one of the most peaceful parts of our trip. The atmosphere was calm, and the panoramic views of Pokhara, Phewa Lake, and the surrounding mountains were absolutely mesmerizing.
But the moment that stood out the most for our family was the sunrise at Sarangkot. Waking up early was definitely worth it. Watching the first rays of sunlight slowly appear over the majestic Himalayan peaks was a spectacular experience. The changing colors of the sky and the incredible mountain views created a moment that we will remember for a very long time.
Travelling at our own pace
